I’ve been reading a lot lately. Shocking isn’t it? It would be if you knew me in college. I read at about a rate of 20 pages per hour unless it was a textbook. Then it was more like 10 pages and hour, which REALLY sucks when the assignment is “read pages 1-150 by tomorrow” and you’re the kind of person who thinks they need to read every word.
Yesterday, I found myself standing in the bookstore looking at the wall of recent popular books. It suddenly all made sense why other countries hate Americans. Here’s what I was looking at:

Wife For Hire
The Gift of Fear
Gastronaut
100 Words That Make You Sound Smart
Deceptively Delicious
The Sharper Your Knife The Less You Cry
Does This Clutter Make My Butt Look Fat?
…. Exactly.
Here are a couple books that I recently finished and recommend reading:
The Road by Cormac McCarthy (read it soon — it’s supposed to come out as a movie) and Life of Pi by Yann Martel (you just gotta get past the first 85 pages… trust me, it’s well worth it). Oh, and Twilight, which led to an intelligent conversation between me and my sister-in-law about whether we would rather date a vampire or a werewolf…
